About the Author
Bethany Bradsher has been a professional journalist and sportswriter for more than two decades, and in that time she has covered everything from the inaugural two seasons of the Carolina Panthers to college football to the rich history of ACC basketball. Bradsher has authored three previous sports books and collaborated on two more, including Broken Road, the story of former New England Patriots standout Tony Collins. She lives in Greenville, North Carolina, with her husband and four children.

For football fans and Super Bowl spectacle lovers alike

At 344 pages, I'd say just over half of the book dives into all of the Super Bowl games (with images and details), key players and coaches. That's for my husband. Then it gets into what I like even more: what makes the Super Bowl special for people who like football all right, but are just as into the commercials, halftime, and other fun stuff surrounding the game. There are so many beautiful photos and illustrations that make this book more interesting to read, or even just glance through. There are fun facts and a lot to break up all the pages. The hardcover is a nice texture, too, like a football. Gold foil is a nice touch! Overall, a nice addition to the coffee table!

This book features original research that challenges such broad oppositions. In eleven essays, leading scholars from many nations construct a more nuanced understanding of logical empiricism, its history, and development, offering promising implications for current philosophy of science debates.

Tapping rich resources of unpublished material from archives in Haarlem, Konstanz, Pittsburgh, and Vienna, contributors conduct a deep investigation into the origins and development of the Vienna and Berlin Circles. They expose the roots of the philosophy in such varied sources as Cassirer, Poincaire, Husserl, Heidegger, and Wittgenstein. Important connections between the empiricists and other movements--neo-empiricism, British empiricism--are vigorously explored.

Building on these historical studies, a critical reevaluation emerges that shrinks the distance between old and new philosophers of science, between "analytic" and "Continental" philosophy. A number of compelling recent debates, including those involving Kuhn, Feyerabend, Hesse, Glymour, and Hanson, are reopened to show the ways in which logical empiricist theory can still be validly applied.

Logical Empiricism is the result of a remarkable conference, convened in the spirit of reflection and international cooperation, that took place in Florence, Italy, in 1999.

About the Author

Paolo Parrini, full professor of theoretical philosophy at the University of Florence and past president of the Italian Society of Analytical Philosophy, is the author of numerous works on epistemology, philosophy of science, and history of science.

Wesley C. Salmon was University Professor of Philosophy, Emeritus, at the University of Pittsburgh at the time of his death in 2001. He is best known for his work on scientific explanation and causation.

Merrilee H. Salmon, professor emerita of history and philosophy of science at the University of Pittsburgh, is the author of Introduction to Logic & Critical Thinking, Fourth Edition, and coauthor of Introduction to Philosophy of Science, among her many other publications.

This book is good enough that it should be updated to include the major enterprise initiatives; e.g., ecommerce, the role of eforms in document management, etc.. In the rapid evolution of document automation technologies, 1995 was a very long time ago.

Wishbone Textbook!

This is a must-read for people who "wish" to "bone" up on how to install
and run the most productive offensive weapon ever devised in College Football
history. Many diagrams of all of the major optioning plays are included,
plus, it has coaching tips with diagrams for all offensive team players
involved.

Credit for origination of the Wishbone was covered in Acknowledgements
Page iv, this book. The Wishbone was born in the mind of Emory Ballard
and utilized initially by Darryl Royal of Texas. These men also shared
their knowledge of the Wishbone to other college programs such as Alabama,
Oklahoma, UCLA, and Air Force, the last team to utilize this system.

For some reason, the formation was discontinued by Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama,
and UCLA after a defensive genius devised a "solution" defense to the Wishbone;
(leaving the Air Force program to retain the triple-option Wishbone T attack).

For those who have not studied the "BackBone" defense, there is a book authored
by its inventor Phil Jack Dawson: "Defeating Triple-Option Offenses With The
Backbone Defense". All details needed for defending the Wishbone are included.
(Too bad, I enjoyed watching this powerhouse offense in operation gobble yardage
in the 70's and early eighties, and hoped it would never end!!).

Other books discussing the Wishbone offense include "Blood Sweat and Chalk"
by Tim Layden, of Sports Illustrated, in chapter 4; and "Wishbone-Oklahoma
Football 1959-1984 (Not all of that time included playing the "Wishbone",
this formation begins discussion in Chapter 9 "The Magificent 'Bone
October 1970".

In sum, this book tells exactly how to install and run the Wishbone T offense.
An excellent resource, to use in case renewed interest in the use of the system
is generated. I highly recommend this book.

The Best Option Football book ever assembled. I have read this book several times a week for many years now. Every time I read it there is another piece of wisdom that I come across. This, and Glenn Tiger Ellisons book on the Run and Shoot are the two greatest football books of all-time.

I've reviewed & read ALL 3 of Franklin's fasting books this week: The Fasting Journal, the Fasting Book w/ DVD, AND the Fasting Edge. I can tell you...

I suggest you choose either the book w/ DVD OR the journal, but NOT both. They both repeat the same things over & over, very annoying. The books are both quite good & very encouraging to read during a fast... but the 2 are too similar. Just choose one, between the two.

But the Fasting Edge- that's my favorite of the 3. It doesn't repeat all the same stuff as the other 2 books either.

All of the books are very inspiring & encouraging. It's a very easy read, all of them are. It's not painful to read, you know how some books can be... it's easy & hard to stop reading, in fact. I really appreciate his constant encouragement & his love for the Lord & for fasting. His real heart comes through, and he doesn't seem like somebody trying to sell us on some 'get rich quick' scheme... not at all... and he makes that quite clear. These books are full of all the Biblical examples of fasting, and I like that too. It also includes testimonials of God blessing people who've fasted, just as He'd promised.

I'm on my 10th day of a water only/ Daniel fast. On the days I'm home, I do water only, but if I have to drive a long way & don't want to wreck, I do the Daniel fast. I keep a separate (blank) journal to record my fasting journey & God has already answered 5 smaller prayer requests. I'm committed to fast 43 days, and then some, until He answers those much-needed prayers I pray on behalf of my husband, and his much-needed mercy & soul-revival. -Glory to God!!

If you are looking to learn more about how to fast this is the book!

I had been looking for a book that what help me understand fasting better. This book beyond just an explanation but gave biblical and real life examples of the power of fasting. It was powerful to realize that even though Jesus was the son of God that he too fasted. This is a book worth buying if you are looking to learn more about fasting!

I REALLY DO ENJOY THIS BOOK. IT WAS A GOOD BUY. I LIKE THE FACT THAT THERE ARE SCRIPTURES TO GO ALONG WITH EACH FAST.
MY SISTER TOLD ME ABOUT THE BOOK. I ORDERED IT THE SAME DAY SHE TOLD ME ABOUT IT, AND IT WAS HERE THE NEXT DAY, WHICH WAS GREAT BECAUSE I WAS PREPARING TO GO AWAY FOR A WEEK TO BE ALONE TO GET RECONNECTED WITH GOD,AND WHAT A JOY IT WAS TO ADD TO MY LIST OF BOOKS TO CARRY WITH ME BESIDES MY BIBLE.
