great Resource

What can you say bad about machinery's handbooks? It is an entire library in one book on the topic of machining. Math tables , formulas, geometry , bolt circles....it just goes on and on.
Every machinist should have a copy. This one is an older copy so the price is RIGHT.

I kept mine from college.

While it was not a book I could afford as a student, I had a tight knit group of 6 friends who bought it for me as a Christmas gift. I used it throughout college and my professional years. I studied Mechanical Engineering but it seems my career drifted more towards Civil Engineering as most of my jobs were for either a municipality's engineering department or for a registered land surveyor.
My book is a bit outdated (20 years ok 30) the logarithm and trigonometry tables, bolts and screws, screw threads, limits and gauges, small tools, feeds and speeds, steels and alloys, motors, weights and measures remain the same. Some things like work rules and machinery standards and other items may have changed over the years.
I may be retired now and my handbook is a little battle scarred, I still find myself reaching for it from time to time for reference.
In my opinion, this book is not an extravagance, it is a necessity for all engineers, draftsmen and machinists.

This designer's co-pilot....

I work as a Civil/Structural designer. While I didn't want to pay the price for a new edition of this book, I was definetly willing to pay the asking price for this one. It's a great resource and will never be too old to be useful. It was in great condition for its age. A very welcome addition to my bookshelf.
